Tanzania offers very different safari experiences depending on the route. The Northern Circuit combines famous wildlife areas such as Serengeti, Ngorongoro, Tarangire and Lake Manyara, while Southern Tanzania is known for large wilderness areas, fewer vehicles in many locations and strong safari combinations around Ruaha, Mikumi and Udzungwa.

There is no single correct itinerary. A good route depends on the number of days you have, how much driving you are comfortable with, the season, your arrival airport and whether your priority is wildlife photography, a family-friendly pace, walking experiences, culture or a mix of several interests.
