The key difference is control of the itinerary
A private safari reserves the vehicle and guiding arrangements for your party, subject to the agreed package. A group safari shares some arrangements with other travellers. Both can be enjoyable, but the level of flexibility is different.
When a private safari makes sense
Families, photographers and travellers with specific interests often value the ability to choose departure times, spend longer at sightings and adjust the pace. The total price is spread across your own party, so cost per person changes with group size.
When a group safari makes sense
A genuine scheduled group departure can reduce some shared vehicle costs and offer a social experience. Confirm whether the trip is an actual scheduled departure, how many people share the vehicle, and whether accommodation and park fees are included.
Questions to ask before booking
Request a written itinerary listing vehicle arrangements, inclusions, accommodation, cancellation terms and the process for changes. Do not assume a lower advertised price includes the same services. Cruize can discuss a suitable route and confirm which departure arrangements are available for your dates.
Plan your next step
The right plan depends on your dates, starting point, travel style and how much time you want in each place. Ask for an itinerary with realistic transfers and clear inclusions, rather than a long list of stops.
